The Jadot family bought Clos des Ursules in 1826, more than three decades before founding their famous house, and it has been theirs alone ever sincea walled monopole of barely three acres tucked inside the Vignes Franches premier cru at the southern edge of Beaune, on land the Ursuline nuns worked for roughly two centuries (convent founded 1626, plot sold to Jadot family in 1826).
